Côte d'Argent
and Pays de Born trek, "Ocean, Lakes, Ponds and marshes".
Exhilarating gallops on fine sandy beaches, which stretch as far as the
eye can see; this is the Côte d'Argent.
The
Pays de Born stretches out in the middle of the biggest forest of Europe.
Between the wild marshes and ponds, come and discover, in the company
of our horses, which in the majority are Anglo-Arabs, the flora and fauna
that makes this site so delightful.
In this abundance of greenery and chlorophyll, dominated by the fragrant
flowers of broom in the Spring, the purple heather in Autumn, in paths
that have the mixed fragrance of resin and iodine, each day will catch
unawares, deer, stags, squirrels, hare, heron... whilst meandering along
the paths. Throughout your holiday enriched with human contact, we will
lead you along the coast with its rivers and canals. We will help you
to discover our county that is so tied to its traditions, its history
and whose rural habitat and picturesque districts are still a living testimony.
Not forgetting its gastronomy, which is influenced by the generous nature
of the land.
Length: 4 days and 4 nights; Evolution: 25 to 35 kms/day;
Dates: April to November (details)

Haut Agenais border
and Quercy trek, "Walled towns and Fortified castles".
In
1152, the marriage of Eleanor and Henry of Plantagenet lead the Aquitaine
region into a long conflict, the 100 year war.
Numerous walled towns and castles were built during this period in order
to respond to the different strategic, political and economic requirements.
We invite you on this journey back in time, roaming on the back of our
courageous chargers. We will advance, through deeper and deeper, yet thick,
harmonious and mellow, valleys, we will advance towards the magnificent
forest that served as a refuge for yokels, and where a maze of ancient
paths, surrounded by Box, unfurls.
From the surprising, perched medieval village, Penne d'Agenais, built
by Richard the Lionheart, via the extremely picturesque walled town of
Tournon d'Agenais, we will take you to Bonaguil. This genuine great work
of military architecture is the last of the great fortified castles built
in France. The castle that has never been besieged is in a perfect state
of preservation.
Finally, after having enjoyed the good fodder influenced by the neighbouring
Perigord, we will lead you on to Gavaudun. Here you will discover a fine
noble, 6-storey Keep, built in a particularly strategic position, in the
heart of the narrow gorges of Lède.
Length: 3 days and 3 nights; Evolution: 30 to 35 kms/day;
Dates: May, September (this circuit is available at any date for
a group of at least 8 persons) (details)

France and Spain
trek, "Discovering the Basque Country".
The
Spain and France trek, "Discovering the Basque Country". From St Palais,
former capital of Basse Navarre, to Ainhoa, listed as one of the most
beautiful villages of France, we will follow both the path of St Jacques
de Compostelle and the different mountain passes in the tracks of the
smugglers in the Quint region.
St Jean Pied de Port... Urepel... Les Aduldes... St Martin d'Arrossa...,
an indescribable feeling of being at the end of the world: here, the countryside
that is as green as Ireland and more harmonious than Tuscany can only
astound you. Primeval virgin forest, spruce villages and hamlets, fresh,
pleasant hidden valleys with thousands of sheep and ponies, that put the
finishing touch to the countryside, leaving us to believe we could live
to be one hundred years old.
Unquestionably one of the most magical places in the world.
Length: 6 days and 6 nights; Evolution: 30 to 35 kms/day;
Dates: May to September (this circuit is available at any date
if group of at least 6 persons) (details)

The
Languedoc Roussillon trek, "On the Cathars trail".
Puivert- Puylaurens- Peyrepertuse- Queribus...
Here are some of the evocative names of castles built in the Middle Ages
which, towering above the county of Aude, have marked history.
Although these ruins are no longer representitive of what they were in
the XIIth century, they still have a striking and fascinating power. Taking
the time to contemplate them, is an important step towards understanding
the events that make the historical identity of the Cathar region. We
have organised a week's trip on horseback through this region full of
citadels, with its land of a thousand colours, intense geographical contrasts
where vast and deep lily-white chalk gorges succeed arid plateaux, through
flora that is often disconcerting, with its mixture of Mediterranean scrubland,
holm oaks, pine trees, beech trees and other mountain species plus thym
and lavender.
Through picturesque villages and hamlets, in the wild settings of the
Sault region, unearthing the authentic gastronomy in order to taste jugged
wild boar, Cathar-reared lamb, Limoux fricassee, the perfumed luque olives
of Minervois ... together with visits to these noble castles.
Length: 6 days and 6 nights; Evolution: 25 to 35 kms/day;
Dates: May, June, October (details)
