Hunter Jumping Tuition – Adults – 2 days – France – 2026
- Level : upper intermediate
- Possibility to come with your horse : Yes
Two-day show jumping and hunter clinic for adults: flatwork and jumping training in the morning and afternoon. Show jumping-oriented dressage, with jumping work in the arena and on the cross-country course. Groups of 4 riders maximum. Our goal is to cultivate harmony between horse and rider, emphasizing balance, stability, and precision in the use of aids, in order to achieve a smooth, open, and light communication between the two partners. There is no good show jumping horse without a solid foundation in basic training! Just as there is no good show jumper without a good understanding of equine mechanics, locomotion, and respect for the mount. Our teaching aims to offer a clear and reliable training method, with simple, clear, light, and effective aids that put the horse in a correct frame, conducive to easily clearing various obstacles. Our instruction is designed to be accessible to any focused and dedicated rider on ordinary sport horses.

Morning: Flatwork

A theoretical review at the beginning of the morning on the rider’s position and the mechanics of the horse at different gaits.
Different themes can be addressed depending on the level and objectives of each rider:
- Rider positioning in balance at all three gaits on the flat, and for show jumpers, on approach and landing.
- Understanding and benefits of backing up, positioning the horse at working gaits, and an introduction to collection.
- Understanding and benefits of bend, shoulder-in and haunches-in work, lateral movements, and then practical application at canter departures from the trot and walk, on lead work, and flying changes.
- Managing the balance of the horse-rider pair during changes of direction, gaits, and speed, and according to the different types of obstacles to be approached.
- Working on various approaches to straight jumps and oxers – the importance of using different lines – working on landing on a specific lead over a single jump and a combination jump.
- Running a course of 4 to 8 obstacles. Hunter progression.
- Practical application of the positioning and driving techniques practiced, focusing on pace control over varied terrain and natural obstacles.
