A day of horseback riding between Mimizan and Bias. Discover the Landes coastline with sweeping views of the forest and the Atlantic Ocean. Ride along the beach southward, enjoying individual or paired canters. Take a break at the Bias pond where the horses graze freely. Explore the natural dunes with their striking topography, lagoons, and marshes. Ride along the Mimizan stream to its mouth. End the day with a sunset ride on the beach before returning to the equestrian center. This horseback riding tour is also offered by equestrian travel agencies worldwide, guaranteeing its quality. English may be spoken during the trip.

Characteristics

Duration: 1 day

Age admittance: From age 15. Teenagers aged 13 if accompanied and having a minimum level of galop 4.

Level required: A minimum of a 3/4 canter is required, or riders must be comfortable at all three gaits and able to manage speed and direction while cantering independently.

Group size: Minimum 3 riders and maximum 8 people. Possibility of forming two groups according to levels.

Monitoring and Safety rules: The tours are led by qualified guides with extensive knowledge of the Landes region, who are eager to help you discover it. They also speak English.

Discover the Coast

Meet at the equestrian center. Welcome, introduction to the facilities and the team. After preparing your horse, we’ll ride in the arena to get acquainted with your mount. Horse changes are possible if needed.

Depart for a 2-3 hour ride exploring the Landes coastline with sweeping views of the forest and the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.

After an hour of riding to get a feel for your horse’s temperament, we’ll head to a secluded beach far from civilization. We’ll ride south, taking the time to breathe in the fresh sea air and the endless open spaces. We’ll enjoy individual or paired canters. We’ll return through the forest towards the Seguedey stream and then the Bias pond.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in a pleasant and peaceful setting.

Dunes and Sunset

Horseback riding resumes depending on the tide and time of year. The horses are prepared for a 2-3 hour ride. We ride along the Sintias Lagoon and then to the Tirelagüe Pond, where we stop to water the horses. We continue through the vast forest with its wild and lush vegetation, amidst natural dunes offering unexpected dramatic landscapes. We then proceed towards the banks of the Mimizan stream and its mouth. The ride concludes with a stroll along the beach at sunset, weather permitting.

Return to the equestrian center. Arrival time varies depending on the time of year and the length of the days.

Transfer to the gîte for those staying the following day.

Dates

Customized lessons available for groups of 3 or more riders. Weekdays or Saturdays and Sundays are available, except during July and August!

Saturdays only are available as part of a 2-day weekend introduction!
