I just got back from a great 6-day jumping training programme at Le Marine equestrian centre in South-East France on the Atlantic coast – where horses live 24/7 in the field. It was an intense week with Michel, our highly-experienced and dedicated instructor, who put all his energy into making a very small group of us riders improve our riding skills in the shortest space of time. We also got to do a few nice relaxing rides on a fantastic beach, and in the woods and peaceful countryside. The homely atmosphere, in the company of very kind and friendly hosts, and other riders from all walks of life, makes for a very interesting experience. Nice on-site accommodation, lovely horses and Anne’s great home cooking helped to make what was a perfect week. I would definitely recommend this horse-riding course and wouldn’t hesitate to come back in future. Many thanks Michel and Anne.

We (two adults and one 14 year old) have just come back from our second week with Michel and his very welcoming family. And of course the fantastic horses, some of which we have fallen in love with.
Our first week was the flexible riding programme and we were impressed with the varied riding in the area. The opportunity to ride independently or in front of the group is so unusual and has given us all a wonderful sense of freedom and confidence.
On our second visit we decided to do the adapted jumping programme. Unlike previous jumping courses we have taken, this one taught us how to keep our horse in balance at all times. The explanations of how and why each of our leg, hand or body movements changed the way the horse responded and then how that affected its position and our control of the horse was just incredible. We were encouraged to practice skills learned in the arena out on the trail and as a consequence our riding skills advanced greatly.
Michel’s kindness to each of us as well as his horses is heart-warming. He also has a very good sense of humour which has endeared the youngest in our group to him in particular.
Every horse that we rode was perfectly matched to us. Each was fun to ride but also safe and very well-schooled. It really was a privilege to ride them.
Michel’s enthusiasm and his pleasure in seeing us develop was infectious. We will be back very soon for more!
