3-day horseback riding weekend in the Landes to discover the exceptional diversity of this area.
Explore the coastal area with its beaches and spectacular dune landscape. Discover the Haute Lande off the beaten track, in the heart of the endemic Landes forest and its traditional architecture.

Features
Duration: 3 days/3 nights with arrival the day before. Option to depart one day later! Transfers available to and from Bordeaux train station or airport.
Participants' ages: 17 to 70 years old.
Adolescents aged 13 to 17 years old with a minimum level of galop 4 if accompanied by a family member who is a rider!
Required riding level: minimum Galop 4 level. Excellent control of the horse at all three gaits while riding individually.
This ride requires riders with a minimum Galop 4 level and a reasonable level of fitness. The pace of this ride is brisk, with frequent periods of trotting and cantering, in order to cover an average of 35 km per day in an average of 6 hours of riding. Cantering is generally done individually or in pairs, whether in the forest or on the beach, allowing riders to control their speed as they wish.
Group size: Maximum 8 people, minimum 3 riders
Supervision and safety: The tour is led by qualified guides with extensive knowledge of the Landes , who are eager to share their expertise with you. They also speak English.
Program
Discovery and getting in the saddle
Arrived the previous day in the late afternoon, evening meal at the gîte.
After breakfast, you'll be welcomed at the equestrian center and introduced to the horses and the coaching team. You'll prepare your mount and then ride in the arena to get acquainted with your horse. You can change horses if needed.
Departure for a three-day horseback riding trip with return to base on the last day.
This first stage takes you to discover the Landes coastline and its spectacular dune landscape. From the highest points at 150 meters altitude, located just one kilometer from the ocean, enjoy breathtaking views of the vast Landes. The first1.5-hour ride takes you along the beach , allowing you to ride on the fine sand and test your mount with individual or group canters.
Lunch in the great outdoors, followed by a nap. Resuming in the afternoon through the varied landscapes of the Landes forest and its waterways.
Immersion in the Landes region
This day of horseback riding immerses you in the heart of the Landes region, far from the beaten track. Discover the forest , a true journey back in time on horseback, as it existed before the maritime pine plantations. Explore wild waterways and protected areas where nature reigns supreme. Ride through traditional Landes villages with their characteristic architecture and farmsteads , testaments to the region's rural heritage.
Numerous individual gallops punctuate this dynamic equestrian day.
Meals in the heart of nature, surrounded by unspoiled landscapes.
The afternoon continues with the discovery of new horizons between dense forest and clearings, alternating between trotting and long gallops on forest paths.
Return to the cottage at the end of the day.
Return via the beach
Last day of this horseback riding trip in the Landes. We set off on horseback to return to the coastal area. We cross the forest with its surprising hills and ridges offering magnificent panoramic views. We progress at a brisk canter to reach our final destination: the Atlantic beach. A second 1.5-hour stretchon the fine sand allows us to fully enjoy the wide open spaces by the ocean. Liberating canters face the waves in an exceptional natural setting.
Return to the equestrian center on horseback, crossing the beautiful Landes forest one last time. End of this weekend ride, rich in discoveries and equestrian thrills.

Hello Michel,
just a quick note to say I had to leave before I could say goodbye, and that I was delighted with my weekend riding with you.
A warm and generous welcome, a family atmosphere, comfort (after the exertion!), kindness, a gradual increase in riding difficulty, adaptability to the riders, the availability of the three of you, etc., etc.
The group of girls was also very nice; they were wonderful people to meet.
The setting was superb! I only knew the Landes for its beaches and pine forests, which seemed rather flat to me, even though I'm from
Langon and spent a lot of time there as a child, but further up the coast. I was delighted to discover varied and hilly landscapes, with water everywhere and in all its forms (not much rain
, actually!!!). And I FINALLY got to gallop on the beach!
Next step: a swim with your horse!!
And thank you to the horses—calm, hardy, reliable, kind, and well-behaved! (Which isn't the case everywhere!) With a warm thought and a big hug for Ihoby, who is truly adorable and whom I would love to see again someday.
